Adjusted flight times improve onward flight options from Dubai
flydubai - new departure and arrival times in Salzburg / Change in flight times also a benefit for adherence to operating hours / In future, no flights to be expected after 11 p.m. / Dubai is developing into an important long-haul hub for Salzburg with even more onward flight options / Emirates network can be used in codeshare from Dubai
In July 2021, the Salzburg-Dubai flight connection was successfully launched, adding the world's third largest airport to Salzburg's flight program as a long-haul hub. It was a milestone for Salzburg Airport and this offer will be further improved from January!
The flight times introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be less than optimal. Time and again, there were delays after 11 p.m. due to traffic congestion, rotation delays and bottlenecks in European airspace. "The isolated flights after 11 p.m. were a thorn in our side. It is neither good for our airport neighbors, the passengers, nor for us at the airport if flights take place outside operating hours. Together with flydubai, we have succeeded in changing the flight times; from mid-January, the planes from Dubai will arrive shortly after noon. This helps us all and especially the passengers, who can reach more onward flights in Dubai with less waiting time," says a pleased Bettina Ganghofer, CEO of the airport.
From mid-January, flydubai aircraft will land at 12:55 p.m. on Saturday and at 1:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Take-off in the direction of Dubai takes place one hour after landing.
The change in flight times also improves connectivity to the Emirates/flydubai hub in Dubai, significantly increasing connectivity and the number of connecting flights. "The Dubai flight connection now allows passengers to reach destinations such as the Maldives, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Zanzibar, Kathmandu in Nepal, and most importantly, the new flydubai connections Pattaya and Krabi in Thailand, with short connecting times. In codeshare, many additional Emirates routes, for example in Africa, India, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, can also be reached with only one change," says Divisional Manager Christopher Losmann. In addition to better flight times, passengers departing from Salzburg can take advantage of short distances, friendly staff, and inexpensive parking options that can be booked online in advance. "The total package in Salzburg fits! Booking, parking, taking off and all that with only short waiting and arrival times, that's what Salzburg Airport stands for," Losmann continues.
Did you know that the package tours to Dubai or via Dubai can be booked with many tour operators? The Thai destinations Pattaya, the "Beach" of Bangkok, or Krabi are definitely an insider tip. Do you remember the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio - The Beach? From Krabi, you can quickly get to the island of Koh Phi Phi, the picturesque setting of "The Beach".
With the improved flight times (SA: 12:55 arrival Salzburg, 13:55 departure Salzburg and for DI, DO and SO 13:05 arrival and 14:05 departure) are now simply even more destinations worldwide accessible!
