Arrival by car
Salzburg Airport has its own motorway exit. It lies centrally on the motorways A1 (direction Vienna, Budapest), A10 (direction Villach, Italy) and A8 (direction Munich). The airport is located 4 km from the German border and 4 km from the city center.
How to get to the airport?
- From the A1 motorway take the exit “Flughafen”
- From the city centre, you can drive from the Neutor to Maxglaner Hauptstrasse and Innsbrucker Bundesstraße (B1) to the Salzburg airport

Toll-free access to the airport from Bavaria
Since December 15, 2019, you no longer need a motorway vignette on the A1 motorway between the Walserberg border crossing (towards Vienna) and the Salzburg-Nord exit. The exemption does not apply to the south, e.g. to Berchtesgaden.
For bikers
There are two covered bicycle parking spaces with charging facilities for e-bikes! One between the entrance to the parking 2 and the taxi lane in front of the departure terminal and another in front of the General Aviation "Herbert von Karajan Terminal" (administration building).
