Air Cargo and Logistics
The cargo area at Salzburg Airport is a partner of AUSTRIAN LOGISTICS, an initiative founded by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology together with the Austrian Federation of Logistics, the Association of Industrialists, the Association Netzwerk Logistik, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik as part of the logistics initiative.
The Cargo Terminal
The cargo terminal located in the eastern part of the airport provides 1,600 square meters of office and 2,300 square meters of storage space. Additional special facilities including two storage areas for hazardous materials as well for refrigeration and freezing, enable the airport to handle special goods.T
The core of this air cargo terminal is the 2200 m² warehouse and a covered outdoor ULD (Unit Load Device) facility with an area of 890 m². This modern facility enables complete handling and storage of cargo pallets under roof.
A particular strength is the Road Feeder Service. On behalf of airlines or freight forwarders, air cargo consignments with airway bills are transported to larger hub airports by road. This takes place within narrow timelines and the cargo can be loaded smoothly at the destination without loss of time.
The cargo of the scheduled aircraft is transported by the airport's own transport vehicles between the main apron and the cargo building.
