The millionth passenger came from Great Britain/ Congratulations to a couple from London landing with British Airways
Today the millionth passenger in 2018 was welcomed at Salzburg Airport. Despite the insolvency of Air Berlin and Niki, Salzburg Airport can look back on a quite successful year 2017 with a total of about 1.9 million passengers. This year´s millionth passenger landed right on time for the middle of the year at Austria´s largest regional airport.
As a matter of fact the lucky ones were a British couple, which landed in Salzburg coming from London Gatwick with our airline-partner British Airways. Reason enough for our CEO Bettina Ganghofer to surprise Ms Christine Parsons and Mr Phillip Whilly with flowers and small presents.
“One million passengers – a magical number we are striving for every year. We are happy to welcome every single passenger. The airport is more than a gateway to Western Austria, we consider ourselves a service-oriented and friendly host of all the people flying in and out of Salzburg. It is the first impression that counts and we have an airport team taking care of a smooth departure or a pleasant arrival. We appreciate all these small milestones and are pleased to be able to show our passengers, how important they are to us”, says Bettina Ganghofer, CEO of Salzburg Airport.
Mrs. Parsons and her companion were visibly surprised and quite happy about the flowers and small gifts. After all, it is not every day that you end up being the millionth passenger at an airport!
