Award for airport´s health policy / several projects and measures support health care for staff / seal of approval for the company´s health promotion efforts
Yesterday, April 11th 2018, Salzburg Airport received a seal of approval for its workplace health promotion. This award is granted for three years. Dr. Klaus Ropin, Manager Fonds Gesundes Österreich and Andreas Huss, Chairman of the Salzburg Regional Health Insurance Body (SGKK), presented the award to Bettina Ganghofer, CEO of Salzburg Airport, Robert Seebacher, Manager Human Resources and Norbert Gruber, Chariman of the Works Committee at the ORF studio in Salzburg.
Only companies that focus on preventing diseases at work, improve their staff´s wellbeing and maintain and promote their employees´health, may be granted this award. In addition, numerous criteria determined by the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion have to be put into practice.
“In his speech at the ORF studio in Salzburg, Director Christoph Takacs emphasized how important employees are for the success of a company and that it is the responsibility of the management to ensure their wellbeing. I totally agree, because work must not make people sick, and well-trained, highly motivated staff are a critical factor for a company´s success. A healthy workplace and opportunities to keep fit are an essential part of our understanding of health care”, affirms Bettina Ganghofer, CEO of Salzburg Airport.
Salzburg Airport has been implementing numerous projects and measures promoting health, which have motivated employees to improve their own health-related behavior. Besides preventive back training and regular lectures on health topics, the airport offers training programs for runners or people who enjoy nordic walking.
“I am very pleased to know how important health care and prevention of disease is to Salzburg Airport. My colleagues really appreciate all health promotion and disease prevention measures offered by their employer”, says Norbert Gruber, Chairman of the Works Committee.
“Quite a number of companies implementing innovative projects, which support health care efforts, were presented yesterday. For us, this is the fourth award in a row – which demonstrates the airport´s unique position among all the other candidates. The seal of approval for workplace health promotion is valid for the next three years. I am convinced that we will be involved once again with new health care projects”, explains Robert Seebacher, Manager Human Resources.
