The outlook for the summer flight schedule promises relaxation, bathing fun and a varied range of scheduled and holiday flights. It is still cold outside, snow is falling, temperatures are usually below 0 degrees - this is when many people long for the sun, the beach, the sea or simply would like to escape their own four walls. Whether it be sunny destinations, city trips or long distance travels, Salzburg Airport’s summer flight schedule offers something for everyone. The borders are reopening and travel restrictions are becoming easier and more transparent. The Austrian tourism industry demands uniform travel rules for the European Union to allow easy and boundless travel.
Sunny destinations
Greece once again is one of the top travel destinations this summer. Eurowings flies to Crete (there is an additional connection to Crete with Corendon) and Rhodes. Together with tour operators like TUI Eurowings offers weekly flights to Karpathos, Kos, Corfu and Zakynthos. Rhomberg Reisen offers flights to Calvi once a week and to Lefkas, another Greek island. Mallorca still is the favorite place to go on vacation for Austrians and Germans. You can easily reach the Balearic island from Salzburg until the end of October.
Flights to Sardinia are offered twice a week as well as weekly flights to Lamezia Terme. In addition, there are weekly flights to Cyprus. Corendon offers services to Antalya and Eurowings flies to Hurghada twice a week. Are you longing for sunshine and swimming in the sea? The flight connections to the Canary Islands Tenerife and Gran Canaria are available until the middle of May.
Culture travelers meet Sun Worshippers
The Orient offers a wide range of holiday experiences for culture enthusiasts and sun lovers alike. Turkish Airlines connects Salzburg with Istanbul up to twice daily. In addition to Istanbul and Antalya, you can fly to Ordu on the Black Sea coast once a week. Flydubai offers six flights a week to Dubai. Many passengers use Dubai International Airport for transfer flights within the entire Emirates route network.
City trips & Co
If you love relaxed shopping and visiting sights, a city trip is a must-do for you! How about one of the German metropolises like Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg or Cologne? Eurowings flies passengers to Germany several times a week. Lübeck Air offers connections to the Hanseatic city Lübeck twice a week. Ryanair offers services to London Stansted and Transavia brings guests to Amsterdam twice a week. A new flight connection is offered by Air Serbia, which is flying to Belgrade three times a week. The hub Belgrade allows passengers to transfer to numerous destinations, like Split, Sofia or Bucharest.
Long distance destinations
You would like to travel farther away? Via Istanbul or Dubai, you will find a variety of transfer options, which require only one transfer flight, for instance to Sydney, Sansibar, the Seychelles or the Maldives. The hub Frankfurt (four daily flights from Salzburg) also offers numerous transfer options worldwide.
