7th AIRport Run at Salzburg Airport / collect kilometers for a good cause / support Lebenshilfe Salzburg project "Assisted Living in Wals" / around 500 runners ran a total of 4,878 kilometers
Today, Thursday, June 6, the traditional Airport Run took place at Salzburg Airport for the 7th time. More than 500 motivated participants enjoyed the pleasant running temperatures and a very special and unusual setting, right next to the runway of Salzburg Airport.
As every year, runners and teams were called upon to collect as many kilometers as possible in the one-hour running time.
"Every kilometer run - whether in individual or team classification - will be donated by us and, together with half of the entry fee, will benefit the "Assisted Living in Wals" project of Lebenshilfe Salzburg. I am delighted that this support will once again benefit our immediate neighbors," says Bettina Ganghofer, Managing Director of Salzburg Airport.
A total of 4,878 kilometers were completed and Lebenshilfe was presented with a cheque for 15,000 euros. The proceeds from this year's AIRport Run will be used to support important renovations at the Lebenshilfe residential home in Wals, which will improve the well-being and quality of life of the residents and caretakers.
Both individuals and teams took part in the AIRport Run. There was an individual classification for women and men. The team classification was divided into male, female and mixed teams.
The children's classification was carried out regardless of gender. In addition to the athletic performance, prizes were also awarded for the most creative team name.
It was well worth taking part - a unique backdrop, a great atmosphere and lots of fun were guaranteed - and all for a good cause.
A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible - and of course to all participants for their great sportsmanship!
