Salzburgers and Bavarians benefit from easyJet's summer route to Barcelona / Long-time partner continues to focus on Salzburg market / easyJet route Salzburg-Berlin already bookable in winter

Now that the first summer destinations are finally flown to from Salzburg, the long-standing airline partner easyJet is now also returning with flight connections to Salzburg. "Nobody likes forced breaks and we as airports and our airline partners in particular would now like to finally get back to our core business - flying. Art and culture connect, Barcelona fits very well with us, it is a lively and vibrant city that you simply need to explore", says Airport Managing Director Bettina Ganghofer about the new summer connection to Spain, "and Barcelona is also a destination where there are no quarantine regulations anymore, so people like to fly on vacation", Ganghofer continues. The current infection situation in Great Britain, above all the Delta variant, is giving aviation - and thus many airlines - a hard time. easyJet has unceremoniously adapted the flight schedule and connected the summer base in Barcelona to Salzburg.

From July 20, the flight program of Salzburg Airport will be a little more colorful: easyJet will fly from Salzburg to Barcelona every Tuesday and Saturday at favourable prices! The direct connection can already be booked and will be offered until the end of October.

Back in 2008, easyJet landed in Salzburg for the first time and has been a reliable and important partner of the airport ever since.

In addition to soaking up the sun and exploring beaches, Barcelona attracts visitors with world-famous attractions such as the Sagrada Família Basilica or Park Güell, designed by Antoni Gaudí. For those who love shopping and strolling, La Rambla is a must. It is considered one of the most famous streets of the metropolis and extends over a length of 1.3 kilometers right to the port of the city. If you want to leave Spain's second largest city behind and look far into the outback of Catalonia, you should visit the mountain Montserrat. Here, you have a magnificent view and can also pay a visit to the world-famous Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat.
"This new flight connection is sure to be popular with our Bavarian and Austrian passengers." In winter, easyJet plans to fly to Hamburg, London, Bristol and Amsterdam in addition to the connection to Berlin (BER), and flights can already be booked. "I am optimistic in any case, because with partners like easyJet, air traffic in Europe is going to pick up again", says Bettina Ganghofer, Managing Director of Salzburg Airport.
